Spirituality 101 Report: Enlightenment
The term enlightenment has mostly been associated with Tibetan & Buddhist monks. The Western ideology of religion – mostly Catholicism or Christianity – does not promote terms such as spirituality or enlightenment, in part due to the dogma of the structure of the churches. So when we think of enlightenment, we might automatically go to the stereotypical idea of a temple with monks praying for hours a day, devoting themselves to isolation to achieve these lofty heights, but a more realistic way to think about reaching enlightenment is through self-discipline. Training the mind to shift to elevating consciousness is difficult at first. The flood of thoughts that stream through the mind on a minute-to-minute basis with electronic stimulation, social media, and television make this exercise even more difficult, but I invite you to turn off your TV and tune in to the Spirit within. There will be a newfound clarity in tuning out the “static” of the world. Of course, social media is an important part of life these days to interact and network with others, but at the end of the day it is all about your close contact with God and achieving the ability to hear Spirit whenever and wherever you are.
True enlightenment is achieved when the physical body and the spiritual self come together in unison. The spirit comes to life, has a voice and is seen through the light that the physical body shines. Enlightenment is also found with a youthful glow, in part due to astral travel and the ninth dimension, where time slows (due to the close proximity to the black hole in the Milky Way). It is evident when you see a truly enlightened person, their light shines and radiates from them. They may be in the 50s or 60s but they emanate a glow and radiance of youth, appearing to be 20-30 years younger than they are. Enlightenment not only has a youthful appearance, there is a peace and happiness that radiates out of those as well. Turning to God is always the first step in the road to enlightenment. Getting on our path is easy, staying on our path is the difficult part, but if we learn to listen to Spirit in our youth, it is much easier to discern if we get lost. In staying on our path, and turning our life to achieving our destiny, we are then closer to reaching enlightenment as well. Remember, the first step to enlightenment is looking to God for the direction to go, the last step will be to never reincarnate again.
